4th Annual Raft the River

Tamarisk Coalition
August 26th, 2017
Fruita, CO
On August 26th, join us and local river experts for Raft the River, a fun, educational float trip and dinner along the Colorado River in Fruita, Colorado from 3:00~7:30.  Plus, this year we'll be floating a new stretch of river compared to previous years; from Rimrock Adventures to the Loma Boat Ramp!

This one-day float trip, guided by Rimrock Adventures, will provide you with a “behind the scenes” look at the work being done to rejuvenate the treasured riparian (riverside) area in the Grand Valley.

We'll be floating approximately 6 miles of river, for about two hours on the water.  Tamarisk Coalition staff and local river experts, such as Ture Nycum, Fruita's Director of Parks and Recreation and Ivan Archer, Wildlife Technician with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, will be on board to talk about restoration work on this stretch. Other topics may include the tamarisk beetle, fish, and wildlife.

After the float, enjoy delicious food (thanks to Rib City, Barons, Cafe Sol, Octopus Coffee, and Home Style Bakery), drinks (both non-alcoholic beverages and beer from Copper Club Brewing Company), prizes (including two $50 gifts cards to Chelsea Nursery, one free SUP rental from Rimrock Adventures, one 1.75 L bottle of Jackelope Gin from Peach Street Distillers, two $25 gift cards from Octopus Coffee, and two 1 pound bags of coffee and two jugs of cold brew from Colorado Legacy Coffee), and live music from Shaun Ray!

Cost is $68 for Tamarisk Coalition members; $80 for non-members.  Price covers the entire event: river float, shuttle, raft guides, dinner, drinks, and music.  All proceeds go to Tamarisk Coalition programs that are restoring rivers in the West.

Don't miss our favorite event of the year!  Space is limited.
